Overview

NBC's "The More You Know" is the longest running, most comprehensive network public service campaign in the media landscape. For nearly two decades, the campaign continues to make a difference in communities across the country by raising awareness of important societal issues and motivating viewers to take action. Through its on-air public service announcements and website, "The More You Know" reaches more than 53 million viewers each week.

Making a Difference

NBC's Emmy Award-winning campaign, "The More You Know" officially kicked off its 19th season in March with a new look, both on-air and online. This season marks a major departure in both style and format from past editions of the campaign, while maintaining its commitment to inspire viewers to take an active role in improving the world we live in.

To keep current on issues of national concern, "The More You Know" relies on the guidance of a national advisory board. The board consists of a wide variety of government, community and education leaders who help identify effective messages that respond to the nation's needs.

A Call to Action

A significant element of our on-air campaign has always been to partner viewers with referral organizations through websites and toll-free hotlines featured in “The More You Know” PSAs. The call to action, in conjunction with the agency partnerships, assures the spots not only deliver the message, but also directs our viewers to a local contact to ensure appropriate and immediate help and information. Current Issues

In connection with "The More You Know", NBC works closely with non-profit and government agencies to encourage viewers to become involved. In the Community

NBC's affiliate stations have made "The More You Know" come alive in local communities across the country. Many affiliates produce their own PSAs that address topics of community concern featuring local personalities. In addition, stations implement a variety of on-air specials, town meetings and community outreach activities such as health and education fairs and homework hotlines.

Each week, "The More You Know" PSAs are incorporated into Qubo programming – NBC's Saturday morning block of educational and informational shows for kids (10:00am - 1:00pm ET).
